October 6 – Grandma Gatewood’s Walk by Ben Montgomery
Join Linda Nixon at 4 pm on October 6th at the Mayo House and discuss Grandma Gatewood’s Walk by Ben Montgomery. This is a non-fiction book following Emma Gatewood, a 67-year-old woman, on her journey across the Appalachian Trail. She became known as the first woman to hike the entire trail solo and the first person to cross it twice.
The Chatham Conservation Foundation Book Club meets on the first Monday of every month at the historic Mayo House, 540 Main Street, Chatham. Each month, we gather to discuss books that explore nature and the environment. Free and open to all, no registration required.

Last month, the Book Club read The Feather Thief by Kirk Wallace Johnson.
