Explore opportunities to expand conservation land in Chatham

Objective:

Develop a proactive land conservation plan, using clear criteria to identify and prioritize properties worthy of permanent conservation

Contact all top-priority landowners identified in the plan to make them aware of the significance of their properties and conservation options

Develop a comprehensive restoration plan and continue implementing projects to maintain healthy ecosystems on CCF properties

Complete full management plans for all Tier 1 properties and develop a management plan template for all other properties

Implement a sustainable plan to ensure annual monitoring of all CCF properties

Increase protection of rare species and habitats through monitoring and reporting observations to the state Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program

Implement best land stewardship practices on CCF properties

Continue to offer ~20 diverse programs per year for CCF members and the public that offer opportunities to appreciate Chatham’s conservation lands and learn about the importance of land conservation and stewardship

Increase public knowledge about the benefits of native plants, the detriments of invasive species, and ways to reduce human impacts on CCF and other conservation lands

Create a policy to guide CCF advocacy and public outreach on environmental issues
