February Book Club

February 9th – Encounters with the Archdruid, by John McPhee

Join us at 4:00 PM on Monday, February 3, at the Mayo House for a discussion of Encounters with the Archdruid by John McPhee. In this influential work of environmental writing, McPhee chronicles a series of conversations with legendary conservationist David Brower and those who challenged his views, exploring the tensions between preservation and development. The book offers a thoughtful examination of how we value land, wilderness, and the choices that shape our natural landscapes.

The Chatham Conservation Foundation Book Club meets on the first Monday of every month at the historic Mayo House, 540 Main Street, Chatham. Each month, we discuss books that explore nature and the environment. Free and open to all, no registration required.

Last month, the Book Club read Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton
