    Join Fi Lowry in welcoming the Solstice with a morning bird walk on Morris Island. We will go in search of sea ducks, loons, grebes and gulls, and keep an eye out for a Northern Harrier hunting over the dunes. Registration is free, but donations to Friends of Monomoy are gladly accepted.

    Join Mary Hake, retired National Park Service wildlife biologist, to greet the first sunrise of 2026 over the open waters and sand spits of Morris Island. After sunrise, enjoy a guided 1–1.5 mile hike in search of winter birds and other wildlife. This event is free, but registration is required.
